Our team has compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions. Plus – we worked together to answer them to save you time. While we believe there is no substitute for face-to-face interaction, our intent is to help you learn more about our organization and what we do here. What are your hours of operation?

Our normal business hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 9:00-1:00. However, the parts and repair department is closed on Saturday.

Where are you located?

Our showroom is located at 802 Chris Drive in West Columbia, SC.

Are you open on Saturday?

Yes, we are open from 9am-1pm on Saturday. However, our parts and repair department is closed on Saturday.

Is your parts and repair department open on Saturday?

No. The parts and repair department is open from 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, we sell gift cards. Please click here. If you need a different amount, please call the store at 803-252-7777.

Do you carry parts?

Yes. We are an authorized repair center for most major brands of power tools woodworking equipment. We have a fully stocked parts room. We service what we sell! See our Parts and Repair page.

Do you carry metal working tools?

We stock a variety of tools and equipment for metalworking.

Do you carry welding supplies?

We do not carry welders or welding supplies. We do sell products for cutting and grinding metal.

Do you carry concrete tools?

We do sell tools for cutting, breaking and drilling concrete.

What tool lines do you carry?

Do you carry safety supplies?

Yes, we do sell hard hats, dust masks, safety glasses, fall protection, hearing protection and more.

Do you sell plywood?

Yes. We carry Baltic Birch in 1/8”, 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, and 3/4” plywood in 30”x 30” and 30” x 60” sizes.

Do you sell veneers?

Yes we carry a variety of domestic and exotic veneers in various sizes.

Do you sell used tools?

We do not sell used tools or rent tools.

What finishes do you carry?

We carry a variety of finishes and finishing supplies. We carry the General Finishes line of stains and topcoats. We also carry strippers, thinners and equipment for applying these finishes.

Do you carry cabinet hardware?

We do carry an assortment of cabinet hardware from hinges and drawer slides to the tools and jigs to install them.

What kind of lumber do you sell?

We sell a wide selection of domestic and exotic lumber. There are approximately 50+ species in our store. You will also see an impressive selection of live edge pieces, pen blanks, and assorted small round and rectangular blanks that a carver or woodturner would use.

How do you sell your lumber?

The common way we sell wood is by the board foot. These pieces are S2S (surfaced two sides on the widest faces). The live edge pieces, pen blanks, turning and carving blocks are sold by the piece. We also have some linear footage S4S (surfaced four sides) of Douglas fir and clear pine. If you do not wish to purchase a full piece of lumber we have minimum length requirements that may require an additional cut charge of $5.

What is a board foot?

A board foot is the common way to sell lumber that is random width and length. A board foot is defined as a 12” x 12” x 1” piece of lumber. The easiest way to calculate a board foot is to measure the board in inches. Multiply the three dimensions together and divide by 144. For example: a board 6” wide x 96” long x 1” thick divided by 144 equals 4 board feet.

Do you sell plywood?

Yes. We carry Baltic Birch in 1/8”, 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, and 3/4” plywood in 30”x 30” and 30” x 60” sizes.

Do you cut wood?

Yes, we will cut wood that we sell for a customer (for transport). We can also do minimal jointing and planing, and cutting to spec for a fee. The shop fee is 60.00 per hour with a one hour minimum.

Do you sell veneers?

Yes, we carry a variety of domestic and exotic veneers in various sizes.

Do you sell online?

Not currently. However, our customer service team is ready to help. Feel free to use the contact information on the website for either the Sales or the Repair departments. If you prefer, you can call us directly at 803-252-7777.

Do you sell over the phone?

Yes. Call us during business hours or email us at sales@manntools.com. We are eager to support your woodworking addiction. We have it too.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, we offer Synchrony six months deferred interest financing. Please apply in store.

What is your return policy?

We have a general store policy of a 30-day return with receipt. Some exclusions apply but are not limited to stationary equipment, lumber, lasers, CNC machines, specialty tools such as jamb saws, parts and repairs, and garage sale items.

Do you take trade-ins on equipment?

No, we do not take trade-ins on equipment.

Do you take special orders?

Yes, we do accept special orders, with prepayment, from existing suppliers.

Do you sell gift cards?

Do you offer a military discount?

Yes we do. We offer military and first responders discounts. Please download and fill out the form and bring it with you to the store with an ID.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Discovercard, and cash. We also have in-store, commercial charge accounts (please download and fill out our application and bring it to the store). We also have in-store financing with Synchrony available (apply in store).

Is your parts and repair department open on Saturday?

No. The parts and repair department is open from 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.

Do you repair tools onsite and, if so, what brands?

Yes, we have an onsite parts and repair department and are an authorized service center for most of the major brands that we sell. However, some tools may be sent to a factory service center depending on a manufacturer’s requirements for warranty repairs. Be sure to check the brands we service under our tool repair section here.

Will you repair tools that are not purchased from your store?

Yes, if it is one of the tool brands that we repair. See our Parts and Repair page.

Do you perform warranty repairs and service?

Yes. You must bring proof of purchase for a warranty claim. Please call for more info as tools bought from certain third party online resellers do not qualify for warranty repair in an authorized repair center.

Do you do onsite tool repair?

With the exception of JPW (Jet, Powermatic, and Wilton) factory authorized warranties, we do not perform onsite repair. Repairs are primarily performed at our location.

Do you assemble tools?

We do assemble tools and equipment. The assembly fee varies depending on the tool.

Do you deliver tools?

Please call us about delivery and shipping options for your order.

Do you sharpen saw blades?

We do offer a sharpening service for carbide router bits, shaper cutter and circular saw blades. Planer and jointer knives can be sharpened as well.

What is your shipping policy?

We ship smaller parcels by either USPS or UPS depending on size and your transit time requirements. In stock items ordered before 2:30 pm will ship the same day. Larger orders for items such as stationary equipment ship by freight line. The cost of shipping is determined by the zip code, shipping method, size, weight and handling of the product. We are happy to estimate shipping fees for you whether you are purchasing in the store or over the phone.

Do you have free shipping?

Most items are shipped for a fee.

Do you deliver tools?

Can I register myself for classes online?

Yes, you can register directly from our Class Page.

What kind of clubs meet at Mann Tool?

Mann Tool is proud to host the Columbia Woodworkers and Palmetto Woodturners Clubs. The Columbia Woodworkers Club meets September through May on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in our classroom. The Palmetto Woodturners meet on the first Saturday of each month at 9 am in our classroom. Times may change due to holidays or special circumstances. Both clubs have links to their websites on the footer of our website.

Do you have woodworking classes?

Yes, we offer a variety of classes to teach you how to use tools safely. We also have classes that teach the skills necessary for woodworking and wood turning. Please see our Classes page or pick up a schedule at the sales counter.
